Multi pane sample set - Traditional glass painting and glass fusing
A panel of original designs to illustrate some techniques of traditional glass painting and incorporating the use of sandblasting and glass fusing.
Top row (From left to right) :
-
Lily group – yellow/gold over clear flashed glass. Group prepared using sandblasting then traditionally glass painted and fired

Leaf group – traditionally glass painted onto clear glass and kiln fired. Subsequently ‘silver-stained’ and second kiln firing to give amber tints

Pansy – as described for Leaf group

Green Leaf group – cut leaf shapes in mixed green/dark green glass kiln used over clear glass
- Filler Leaf border – small green leaf shapes and black ‘stringer’ glass fused over amber glass
Bottom row
(Petunia groups) :
- Glass painted over textured clear glass and kiln fired
- Group outline cut from kiln fibre paper applied to blue glass and kiln fired
- Blue glass matted with glass paint, petunia group outlined onto it and then detailed to reveal blue glass beneath and then kiln fired
- Petunia group assembled as individual flower/stem shapes and fused over clear glass
